Consumer Credit Counseling

Home Consumer Credit Counseling
The Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) requires consumers who wish to file a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy to complete a Bankruptcy Credit Counseling session with an approved non-profit counseling agency prior to filing their bankruptcy. Any credit counseling agency approved by the United States Trustee Program can give the counseling. While Hubbell DuVall PLLC does not necessarily endorse or prefer any one provider over another, the following have a track record of reliability, and our clients report good experiences. Complete the first course before your case is filed, and the second course after your case is filed. If you live in Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, Macomb, Lapeer, Genessee, or the thumb counties, your judicial district is the Eastern District of Michigan.
